  • About This Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY:
Lead a team of project engineers in the design and continuous improvement of distribution center processes, labor management, layout, equipment, and automation solutions. Develop robust project plans: define scope and KPIs, project schedules and resource plans. Manage risks and communicate project status for the entire portfolio of projects.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Manage a portfolio of DC design and continuous improvement projects.
  • Lead the design and improvement of new distribution centers: material handling and storage equipment design, layout design, capacity analyses, labor management system and observation program implementations, continuous improvement (LEAN, 6-Signma) and automation projects.
  • Hire, train, coach and develop an effective team of engineers.
  • Assign engineering resources to projects.
  • Identify risks, develop mitigation plans and escalate when appropriate.
  • Develop and manage project budget and contract documents including RFPs, change order controls, purchase orders, and invoicing

EDUCATION: Bachelors/4 Yr Degree
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 8+ years
YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: 5+ years
CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES: NA

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Expert in Microsoft Office tools
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge of time study techniques and software
  • Previous experience in an engineering role within a distribution center environment
  • Proficient in Continuous Improvement methodologies: Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA, 5S.
